including john mccain and lindsey graham are now calling for a, quote, watergate-style investigation into the libya raid and the obama administration's response to it. they also said they would try to block any attempt to nominate susan rice as the next secretary of state, describing her as unqualified for the job after she originally characterized the terror attack as a protest gone wrong. she went on the sunday shows including "meet the press" a couple days after the attack and said that. president obama in his news conference yesterday fired back at senators mccain and graham. >> let me say specifically about susan rice, she has done exemplary work. she has represented the united states and our interests in the united nations with skill and professionalism and toughness and grace. if senator mccain and senator graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me. and i'm happy to have that discussion with them. but for them to go after the u.n. ambassador who had nothing to do with benghazi and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had rec

. shannon: yeah. and there are those who include senator lindsey graham who are insisted we have access to that individual and pushing the tunisian government to insure we would get some kind of access which has made it more of a public conversation about why we don't know more about holding that person or persons individually accountable. we have gotten different briefs from the cia, the pentagon, some of this has been anonymous information, but there are differences in some of the timelines and explanations about what happened. at what point do the agencies sort of dig in to protect themselves, their personnel and what they believe they did right versus versions ha we're getting from the white house -- that we're getting from the white house and elsewhere? >> yeah. agencies are going to do that. you've already seen that from the cia with the criticism that they held back for a while, then it reported, hey, these guys were sent from the annex to the consulate, they rescued everyone but the ambassador because couldn't find him. this was a consulate in name only, they were holding back t

of a sudden republicans and democrats are talking about it. lindsey graham, he's trying to get together with chuck schumer to see if there's an opportunity. are you in favor right now of major legislation that would deal with comprehensive immigration reform, securing the border but also having a pathway to citizenship for some of those illegal immigrants who are in the country? >> wolf, several things. absolutely i am for comprehensive approach. let's stop making this a political issue. let's solve this issue. does have to include securing the borders. the president said he was going to present a proposal. let him present that proposal so we aren't negotiating with ourselves. but we in the republican party need to be clear that we welcome folks that want to come to this country and follow the rules and work hard and make this a better stronger country. our legal immigration system is broken. we need to dramatically increase the number of people we allow in this country legally. it's good for them, it's good for our country. right now our immigration policies aren't good for our country
